Abstract: We’re excited to share progress on the addition project at Hoover High School in Des Moines! Currently under construction and scheduled for completion in January 2026, this project introduces a new secure entry designed to enhance safety for both students and staff.

The 1,700-square-foot addition features a modern exterior defined by two monolithic forms that create a dynamic, welcoming entrance aligned with the school’s primary student access points. The use of contrasting materials and bold graphics distinguishes the new addition from the existing building, giving it a strong visual identity that will provide clear wayfinding for all visitors attending academic and athletic events.

This project not only strengthens campus safety but also contributes to a renewed sense of pride in the Hoover community. We’re proud to be part of the team revitalizing this historic campus with a contemporary new face for the district.
